1. both …and…, not only … but also…表示"既……又…… "或"不但…… 而且……"。 neither…nor…,表示"既不……又不……"。
either…or表示"或者……或者……"，"不是……就是……"。
both…and… 连接两个主语时，谓语用复数形式。
Not only …but also…, neither …nor…,either … or… 连接两个主语时， 句中谓语要和邻近的那个主语在人称和数上保持一致。例如：
(1) Both you and I are interested in it.
(2) Not only the students but also their teacher likes football.
(3) Neither you nor I am wrong.
(4) Either you or he is to go.
3. 表示许多的词语，根据性质分为三类：
（1） 修饰可数名词复数，如many, a good/great many, quite a few, a large/great/
small number of…其后的谓语动词用复数形式。
（2） 修饰不可数名词，如much, a great deal of, quite a little, amount of…其
后的谓语动词用单数形式。
（3） 既能修饰可数名词又能修饰不可数名词，如a lot of, lots of, plenty of, a great quantity of…谓语动词根据主语是可数或不可数决定单复数形式。例如：
